Prayers of the People
God of mystery and might, we praise you and worship you, for you came in
silence, while all were sleeping, to enter our world as a child of
humble birth. We thank you
for your Son, Jesus Christ, born of your handmaid Mary.
In his face we behold your glory for in his life as in his death
is your gift of salvation.
By your Spirit, make our hearts burn with thanksgiving, that we may give
as we have received. Let
our whole lives be gifts of praise to you.
Yes, Lord Jesus, Father’s true Son, our faithful savior, we are
burdened and heaven laden. We
are tired. We come to you for rest.
Open our eyes that we might see.
Set us free to embrace your knowledge of the Father’s heart.
Show us how we are embraced by the very arms of God.
Hear our prayer that you will preserve all who live and work in Kaufman,
and our whole community, in peace and safety.
Our prayer is that you will comfort and empower those who face
any difficult trial: the sick, (especially…), the poor, the oppressed,
those who grieve and those who are in prison.
Bless them with your love.
Merciful God, as a potter fashions a vessel from humble clay, you form
us into a new creation. Shape
us, day by day, through the cross of Christ your Son, until we pray as
continually as we breathe and all our acts are prayer; through Jesus
Christ and in the mystery of the Holy Spirit, we pray.
Amen
