Prayers
of the People
7/29/07
As we are gathered together in worship, we lift our hearts to you, in
praise and worship, dear Lord; thanking you for all that you have done
in our lives, and especially, thanking you for time that we are given
where we may pray to you for others in our lives and in this world.
As sheep, with your flock, we pray for the Church of Jesus Christ all
over this world. Speak to
those whom you are leading in specific ministries at this present time
in their lives. Lead them
with your inspiration and strength .
For those who preach and teach the gospel of Jesus Christ, lead
them to discern the message of your good news to us at deeper levels
that astonish people with the truly amazing presence of your love in our
lives.
We pray for ourselves, as your congregation.
We want our mission to be to discern your will in leading us to
new ministries you would have us involved in here in our community, if
that be your will. Also, we
want to share with one another in growing spiritually in our lives, as
we are transformed by the Holy Spirit into becoming more and more of who
we are in Jesus Christ.
For the political and religious war issues in the Middle East, we pray
for those who need your protection, support, peace, faith, and mercy.
May leaders who seek to serve people with justice and proper orientation
truth be empower by your Spirit and those who are guided by wrong
intentions to hurt other human beings, be lead out of their influential
positions.
We lift up to you, in these intimate prayers, our loved ones, sitting
with us, and those not with us right now, but with us in our hearts,
those who are sick, grieving, suffering in circumstances, we pray for
them…asking for your healing, your comfort, you involvement in leading
them where you will for them to be.
O God, who made of one blood all races and nations of earth, and sent
your Son Jesus Christ to preach peace to those who are far and those who
are near: Pour out your Spirit on the whole creation,
bring the nations of the world into your fellowship, and hasten
the coming of your kingdom; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
