Prayers of the People
O Lord, our Savior and our Redeemer, in your Spirit, we turn to you in
our hearts, praising you, filled with the joy which you have given to us
through the faith of Jesus Christ.
Thank you for bringing us to a new place in our lives where we
are experiencing your grace, your mercy, and your steadfast love in life
changing ways, even in the times of our trials and anxieties.
Our prayer, as your church, your children, your flock, is that we will
be inspired by you, the Holy Spirit, to see in our hearts the
awesomeness of your gospel, that we will experience this is such a way
we will seek to follow your will in regards to ministering your love to
people in our community. Lead
us to see our place as your disciples when we are together in the name
of Jesus Christ. Put your
desires in our hearts, so that we will seek eternal life fulfillment in
your worship and your service. Help
us to experience the true importance of our life in the church and the
church’s life in us.
For our families, our friends, our brothers and sisters in Christ
surrounding us in your love, we bring them to you, praying for your
covenantal will to be revealed to them in their lives.
Many are in sorrow…in grief…in struggles and trials through
painful circumstance in their lives…suffering physical and emotional
pain and illnesses. We bring them to you in our prayers.
Bless them. Surprise
them with your joy, laid down in their daily lives in the midst of all
they are going through. Bring
your healing into their lives by filling them with the faith of Jesus
Christ so that they may be embraced by the eternal wellness of divine
life that is already theirs in you.
We pray for the church all around the world, that the justice and mercy
of your Spirit will reach out in various situations.
We pray for our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, and all over the
world. May leaders who know
true guidance skills be empowered by your presence, and those rulers who
are seeking worldly power and authority, to either be converted to your
ways or removed from political situations which harm the people below
them.
Into you hands, O God, we commend all for whom we pray, trusting in your
mercy; through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.
