Prayers of the People
Dear gracious God our Father, we thank you that you have taught us to
pray for people all over the world, who are in all kinds of situations.
We also thank you for revealing to us that even when our prayers
are not perfect, that the Holy Spirit searches our hearts, and Christ
speaks our prayers to you. We
come together now and offer you our prayers.
Having a new time brought into our lives, we pray for our spiritual
brothers and sisters, your whole church, that all Christians will be
inspired by your power, peace, unity, and love.
Grant that all who trust in you will learn about your grace and
past, present, and future love in deeper and more profound
understandings.
Lead nations all over the world in the ways of justice and peace.
Protect simple lowly human beings from those being led by the
power of evil through terrorism. Help us support our troops.
Please, help those with financial blessings from you, who want to
know how to give and help others in need, to learn and obey your
calling.
Bring an awareness of your kingdom to all who are spiritually poor.
Comfort our sisters and brothers who are sad.
O Lord, relieve all who are in trouble and sickness.
Our heavenly Father, we now take a time of silent prayer and some
outspoken prayers by some of us, as we open our hearts concerning those
especially known to us and loved by us…
We certainly praise you and thank that you brought us into this
congregation. Continue to
lead us into discerning your will that we may share with others the love
for Jesus Christ.
Lord our God, accept these fervent prayers of your people. In your great mercy, look with compassion on us and all who
turn to you for help, for you are gracious, O lover of souls.
To you we give glory, O blessed Trinity, now and forever.
AMEN
