PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE


Dear loving heavenly Father, we thank you, and praise you for the many circumstantial blessings that you have placed down in our lives.  May we grow in learning about your heart, in your loving us by giving your Son and suffering his death?  We worship you for converting us to really loving you in Jesus Christ.

We have been taught by you to pray for others, and that the Holy Spirit knows our hearts, communicates with Christ, and Christ prays for us all.  As we pray for others, fill us with your Spirit, to join with Christ in his prayers.

Give grace to all who proclaim the good news through Word and Sacrament and deeds of mercy, that by their teaching and example they may participate in revealing your love for all people.

Comfort and relieve, O Lord, all who are in trouble … sorrow … poverty … sickness … grief … especially those known to us, whom we name before you in silence …. Heal them in body, mind, or circumstance, working in them, by your grace, wonders beyond all they may dream or hope.

Bring to our remembrance all those who, having served you on earth, now sing your praises eternally.  May their endurance give us courage and their faithfulness give us hope; through Jesus Christ our Savior.       Amen.
